Wencie S. Brion

Wencie Silva Brion, 73, of Middletown, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on July 31st.

Born on September 3rd, 1952, in Lipa City, Philippines, to Wenceslao and Crispina Brion, Wencie earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the East and worked for the National Irrigation Administration before immigrating to the United States with his family. He later worked at Flame Treating & Engineering Company in West Hartford and at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

Wencie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening and was always happy to share the vegetables from his garden with family and friends. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, generosity, and unwavering love for his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Prima Sarmiento Brion; his children, Olga and John Forno of Middletown, Wendell Brion and his family in the Philippines, and Neil Patrick Brion and Yvonne Fabretti of Bristol; his grandchildren, Nicole, Natalie, and Emily Forno, and Caraleighana and Alyza Brion; his siblings, Divinia and Romeo Abracosa, Arnulfo and Evelyn Brion, Marvin and Jocelyn Brion, and Emily DiNonno; and several beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings Belita Brion Endaya, Larry Brion, and Edwin Brion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 10that 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, Middletown. Friends may call on Monday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Lastrina Family Funeral Home, 491 High St., Middletown. Burial will in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Windsor Locks.
