Timothy Coleman

Timothy Joseph Coleman, 70, passed away on March 28th in Lakeland, FL.

He was born in Hartford CT. and raised in Middletown CT. Tim graduated valedictorian of his class from St. Thomas More Preparatory School in Oakdale, CT. He went on to become co-owner of Coleman Brothers Shows with his sister, Mary Ellen Oakes, proudly continuing a family business that began in 1916 with his grandfather, Richard Coleman, and great-uncle, Tom Coleman.

That legacy, carried on by his father, Robert Coleman, and the entire family for over 100 years, meant everything to him. Tim took great pride in the show and the people who were part of it.  In 2022, he was honored as Showperson of the Year by the New York State Showpeople's Association, something in which he took great pride.

Tim was funny, kind, and always smiling and laughing. He loved his family deeply, was a great friend, and an avid golfer. He believed in treating everyone fairly and with kindness, and that’s exactly how he lived his life.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene Scott Coleman; his daughter, Kristy Lee Coleman; his son, Timothy Richard Coleman and Tim’s wife, Jennifer Blubaugh Coleman; his brother, Robert Edward Coleman, Jr.; and his sisters, Mary Ellen Oakes and Melissa Ann Coleman. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on April 13th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, Middletown. Burial will be in the family plot in Indian Hill Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may call at the Lastrina Family Funeral Home, 491 High St., Middletown on Sunday, April 12th from 7 to 9 p.m.

Tim will be remembered for his warmth, his steady presence, and the way he showed up for the people he loved. He will be deeply missed.
