Paolo LoGiudice, 91, of Middletown, beloved husband of Vincenza (Fazzino) LoGiudice passed away peacefully on Monday, July 9th, at Middlesex Hospital. Born on July 22nd, 1933, in Melilli, Italy, Paolo was the son of the late Giovanni and Sebastiana (Aresco) LoGiudice. He began working with his hands at a young age and learned the craft of masonry in Sicily, continuing in America, which led him to his life’s work. He was known for his humorous spirit, his honesty, his love for music and gardening and was especially gifted at handing out the best nicknames.
Paolo is survived by his wife Vincenza, his loving son Giovanni (John) and daughter-in-law Sharon of Middletown, his cherished daughters, Lisa LoGiudice, Sebastiana LoGiudice, Maria LoGiudice and son-in-law Michael Burta of Pittsfield, MA; grandchildren Angelo, Jennifer, Dana, Kyle, Joshua, Connor and Ava; great grandchildren Zachary, Carter, Hope, Angelo, Sebastian, and Max. He leaves behind his brother Emilio LoGiudice of Melilli, Italy, his sisters Filomena Cartelli of Cromwell, Anna Andolina of Middletown, and Cecilia Gaudino of Middletown, and many dear nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Sebastiano, Santo and sisters Pina Marino, Maria Pulvirenti, and Carmela Fazzino.
Paolo was a proud and devoted grandfather and great grandfather. His smile and lively spirit brought joy in every room he was in. He will be forever in our hearts.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, July 14th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Sebastian’s Church, Middletown. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Sebastian’s Cemetery, Middlefield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, July 14th from 9 until 10:30 a.m. The Lastrina Family Funeral Home, 491 High St., Middletown, is in charge of arrangements.
