Linda Footit
Linda L. Footit, of Meriden, CT passed away April 13th, at home with her family by her side. Linda was born in Middletown, CT on May 14th, 1951 to Herbert and Alva (Olsen) Leining, both deceased. Linda grew up in Durham, CT. She graduated from Durham High School in 1969. She married the love of her life, Richard C. Footit in November of that year.
Linda loved baking, cooking and caring for her flowers. She loved family traditions and held them close to her heart. Some of those traditions included making pierogies for Christmas Eve and making homemade pizza for Richard’s birthday every year, and a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day dinner. She crocheted afghans for many family members including her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. One of her favorite things to do was to host Sunday dinners with her whole family present. Her favorite name to be called was ‘Gram.’
Linda is survived by her husband Richard, and her daughters Karen Vecchitto (Guy) and Kristine Foligno (Frank), her sister Donna Lambertson (Richard), grandchildren Courtney Banas (Matthew), Christopher Whalen (Alex), Ethan and Alex Foligno, and great-granddaughter Giorgia Mae Banas. She also survived by many cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her mother, father, and 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 17that the Lastrina Family Funeral Home, 491 High St., Middletown at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Sebastian’s Cemetery, Middlefield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, April 17thfrom 9:30 until time of service.
