Josephine Tynan

Josephine J. Tynan, 96, of Middletown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family in the comfort of her home on Friday, May 16th.  She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Tynan for over 60 years. Born and raised in Ansonia, CT to the late Domenick and Rosa (Sampieri) Polis, she moved to Middletown to pursue a lifelong career in Nursing. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed.  

She was predeceased by her parents, 6 siblings and their spouses: brothers Augustine, Sebastian, and Vincenzo, sisters Jennie Morton, Anna Moroni and Annette Tuccio, as well as her husband John and her son John F. Tynan, Jr. She is survived by her sons and daughters in law Patrick (Cynthia) of Rocky Hill, William (Pamela) of Freemansburg, PA, and Denise Tynan of Bristol; also grandchildren Jessica (Kevin), Timothy (Sandra), Ethan, Andrew, Matthew, and Johanna and William Jr.; great-grandchildren Norah, Moanna and Kairo, in addition to an extended and loving family.

Funeral services will be held at the Lastrina Family Funeral Home, 491 High St., Middletown, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 24th. Burial will be in the family plot in St. John’s Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, May 24th from 9 a.m. until time of service.
